<br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council 4.8 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent September 4, 2018 Justin Femrite, P.E., Public Works Director <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Street Reconstruction Quote for 6 ½ Street and Cal Portner, City Administrator <br />Quinn Avenue Project <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Approve, by motion, authorizing the quote received for work on the 6 ½ Street and Quinn Avenue <br />improvements by Omann Brothers Paving, Inc., in the amount of $174,057.82 for street construction. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />In 2017, a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district was approved for the area between Quinn Ave. and <br />Proctor Ave. just south of the railroad tracks. As part of this TIF district, additional public improvements <br />were approved as part of the redevelopment. 6 ½ Street is to be constructed with a connection to Proctor <br />Ave. (opposite the Beaudry Gas Station and office) and connect to Quinn Ave. Quinn Ave. will be <br />reconstructed in this area at and north of the 6 ½ Street intersection. <br /> <br />The street quote package was sent out to four contractors and two were returned. Staff is recommending <br />authorization of the low quote received for the street construction. The street quote package includes the <br />construction of the street base, bituminous paving, and final restoration of the boulevards.
