<br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council 4.9 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent August 20, 2018 Tim Sevcik, Street and Park Superintendent <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />2018 Street Improvement Projects Justin Femrite, P.E., Public Works Director <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Accept, by motion, the quote received for work on various small street improvement projects for 2018 by <br />North Valley Inc., in the amount of $103,535.37. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />For 2018, $600,000 was budgeted from the Pavement Management Fund to conduct street maintenance <br />and repairs. The Public Works Department conducts large street improvement projects on odd number <br />years and smaller projects on even number years. For 2018, a number of small improvements were <br />identified in which sections of pavement have failed prematurely. A total of six small projects will be <br />completed at various locations throughout the city with treatments consisting of overlay, and edge mill <br />and overlay. Construction is anticipated to start in late August of this year and be completed by the end <br />of October. <br /> <br />The 2018 street improvement quote package was sent out to three contractors with all three contractors <br />submitting quotes.
