Section 12. RES Compliance and Rate Impact
<br /> This section describes MMPA's efforts toward meeting the State of
<br /> Minnesota's Renewable Energy Standard(RES) and the estimated
<br /> rate impact of complying with the RES.
<br /> RES Requirement MMPA's annual RES requirements are projected to grow from
<br /> Projected to Grow to approximately 312,000 in 2019 to 511,000 in 2033. This is mainly
<br /> 511,000 MWh because of ERMU's addition as the twelfth member to MMPA as
<br /> well as the increasing RES requirements. The RES requirements are
<br /> based on total retail electric sales. The calculations account for a
<br /> 4.49% system loss between wholesale and retail sales. The table
<br /> below summarizes the RES obligation for MMPA for the period
<br /> 2019-2033.
