ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES <br /> 322 King Avenue <br /> 111 " Elk River, Minnesota 55330 <br /> Phone (612) 441-2020 <br /> UTILITIES COMMISSION MINUTES <br /> January 5, 1993 <br /> 4 :00 P.M. <br /> Present Were: George Zabee President <br /> James Tralle Vice Chairman <br /> James Simpson Trustee <br /> Others present: Bill Birrenkott General Manager <br /> Glenn Sundeen <br /> Don Heinzman Elk River Star News <br /> 1) The meeting was called to order at 4 :00 P.M. by President Zabee. <br /> 2 ) Motion by Mr. Simpson seconded by Mr. Tralle to approve the <br /> agenda. The motion carried. <br /> 3 ) Motion by Mr. Tralle, seconded by Mr. Simpson to approve the <br /> minutes of the previous meeting as distributed. The motion <br /> carried. <br /> 4 ) The General Manager reviewed the bids received on the new <br /> transformer to be installed at the West Substation site. He <br /> reported that seven bids were received with prices ranging from <br /> $205, 783 to $269,783 . Motion by Mr. Tralle, seconded by Mr. Zabee <br /> to authorize the General Manager to negotiate with the low bidder <br /> for the purchase of the specified transformer for a price not to <br /> exceed $205,783. The motion carried. <br /> 5) The General Manager reported that the acquisition from Anoka <br /> Electric is proceeding with the planned area to be completed by <br /> January 31st if the weather cooperates. <br /> 6) The General Manager reported that a customer in the Westwood area, <br /> who has been paying for his own security light, is requesting that <br /> the light be included with the City street lights in the future. <br /> This request will be forwarded to the Street Light Committee for <br /> the planned 1993 additions. <br /> 7 ) Motion by Mr. Tralle, seconded by Mr. Zabee to approve the monthly <br /> expenditures. The motion carried. <br /> 8) The Line Superintendent reported on the status of operating <br /> conditions and construction projects. <br />
