ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES <br /> 322 King Avenue <br /> Elk River, Minnesota 55330 <br /> Phone (612) 441-2020 <br /> UTILITIES COMMISSION MINUTES <br /> September 12, 1995 <br /> 4 :00 P.M. <br /> Present Were: George Zabee President <br /> James Tralle Vice Chairman <br /> John Dietz Trustee <br /> Others Present: <br /> Bill Birrenkott, General Manager; Bob McCartney, Water <br /> Superintendent; Glenn Sundeen, Line Superintendent; Lori Johnson, <br /> Assistant City Administrator; Pat Klaers, City Administrator; Bill <br /> Rubin, Economic Development Coordinator; Representatives from <br /> Hoisington Koegler; Steve Nordahl, ERMU Home Security; Gary Groen, <br /> Abdo Abdo & Eich; Paul Erich, Olsen Theilen <br /> 1) The meeting was called to order at 4 : 00 P.M. by President <br /> Zabee. <br /> 2) Motion by Mr. Dietz, seconded by Mr. Tralle to approve the <br /> agenda as amended. The Motion carried. <br /> 3 ) Motion by Mr. Tralle, seconded by Mr. Dietz to approve the <br /> minutes of the previous meeting as amended to include a <br /> presentation by Abdo Abdo & Eich at the next meeting. The <br /> motion carried. <br /> 4 ) An Audit presentation to do the Utilities audit was presented <br /> by Gary Groen of Abdo Abdo & Eich during which the <br /> Commissioners had several questions. This was followed by a <br /> presentation from by Paul Erich of Olsen & Theilen during which <br /> the Commissioners also had several questions. The <br /> Commissioners delayed a decision on this topic to a future <br /> meeting. <br /> 5) Bill Rubin of the City of Elk River along with representatives <br /> of Hoisington Koegler made a presentation regarding the <br /> Mississippi Walkway. The Commissioners reviewed the concept <br /> and agreed that the process should continue. <br /> 6) The present washdown policy was discussed along with a note <br /> from Phil Hals in which he stated that he would rather see <br /> lots swept rather than washed. Motion by Mr. Deitz seconded <br /> by Mr. Tralle to continue the present policy and coordinate <br /> with Phil Hals a policy regarding the possible rental of City <br /> sweepers to accomplish the cleaning of parking lots. The <br /> motion carried. <br />
