Special Utilities Commission Meeting Page 2 <br /> March 8, 1996 <br /> noted that in order to attract the industry and to have the industry locate in Elk <br /> River to increase the city tax base and employment base, it was likely the city <br /> would forego its 3 percent contribution on this customer. <br /> COMMISSIONER ZABEE MOVED TO AUTHORIZE A LETTER BEING SENT TO THE BUSINESS <br /> PROSPECT WHICH INDICATED THAT THE ERMU COULD MATCH THE RATES BEING <br /> OFFERED BY AEC AS IDENTIFIED IN THE AEC RATE BOOK(PAGE COMMERCIAL 2-4, <br /> REVISION 2(JANUARY 3, 1995) EFFECTIVE DATE 8/1/93). COMMISSIONER DIETZ <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 2-0. <br /> 5. Other Business <br /> Discussion took place on who in the Utilities organization had the authority to <br /> suspend employees pending a decision by the Utilities Commission. <br /> COMMISSIONER ZABEE MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE PRESIDENT OF THE COMMISSION <br /> TO HAVE THE POWER TO SUSPEND,WITH PAY, EMPLOYEES UNTIL THE NEXT REGULAR <br /> OR SPECIAL UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING IS HELD TO CONSIDER THE ACTION OF <br /> THE PRESIDENT. COMMISSIONER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br /> CARRIED 2-0. <br /> It was noted that this motion and topic would be discussed in detail at a future <br /> Utilities Commission meeting when all Commissioners were present. <br /> 6. Adjournment <br /> There being no further business, COMMISSIONER ZABEE MOVED TO ADJOURN THE <br /> SPECIAL UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING. COMMISSIONER DIETZ SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION.
