Discussion
followed regarding the possibility of a rate decrease. It was the concensus of the
Commission to presently keep the rates as they are, given the uncertainty of the
future. Deregulation and the Eastern Area Development were the topics
considered during the discussion. George Zabee stresses caution, with a wait
and see attitude.
5.3 Electric Deregulation information from October 13, 1998 meeting
The carry over discussion of Deregulation continues, with emphasis on
the discovery of under-lying problems. It is agreed that the topic is important
and the importance of close scrutiny is imperative.
5.4 Proposed Gas Turbine Project
Discussion of the Joint Meeting with City Council, on Monday,November 9,
1998 regarding the Gas Turbine Project continued. Availability of turbines is
an issue to be monitored. John Dietz suggests that the City Street Superintendent
be included in the study of noise. Staff responded positively to the suggestion.
5.5 Up-date progress on Well#6 Facility
Staff advised Commission that drilling has been slow and the project will not be
ready for further construction of the Treatment Plant on December 1, 1998 as
originally planned.
Other Business
Commission requested Staff to report at a future meeting on policies regarding
NSF checks received, particularly in regard to payments due on the 15th of the month.
