Steinman, Director of Economic <br /> Developmen <br /> DATE: January 13, 1997 <br /> SUBJECT: Strategic Planning <br /> PURPOSE OF MEMO <br /> The purpose of this memo is to outline the discussion items for the <br /> • EDA special meeting on Monday, January 21, 1997. <br /> II. OVERVIEW <br /> In December, 1996, the Strategic Planning Task Force requested that <br /> the EDA undertake the task of outlining an action plan and <br /> recommending such action plan to the Strategic Planning Task Force. <br /> At its last special meeting, the EDA undertook a discussion of eight <br /> alternate areas which could be appropriate for business and industrial <br /> park development. Regarding each of these eight areas, the EDA felt <br /> it was appropriate for staff to identify criteria indicating the <br /> advantages and disadvantages as business park or industrial sites. <br /> Additionally, staff indicated that it would have available at the next <br /> EDA special meeting, a concept of an industrial base action plan for <br /> review by the EDA. <br /> III. PRIMARY ISSUES TO CONSIDER <br /> • What are the criteria for each of the areas identified by <br /> staff? <br /> • <br />
