<br />o <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Special Meeting <br />June 14, 1976 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Members present Mayor Lundberg, Councilmembers Otto, Hudson, Konop, City Engineer Lyle <br />Swanson. <br /> <br />Mayor Lundberg called the Special Meeting on the 1976 Street Improvements to order and <br />introduced Hr. Swanson of McCombs-Knutson City Engineer and turned over the podium. <br /> <br />Hr. Swanson first revievJed the preliminary report on the curbs & side\valks. Approximately <br />150 residents were in attendance. Do to all the adverse opposition of those in attendance <br />the City Council took the following action. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember otto that the 1976 proposed <br />curb and sidewalk improvements will not be done due to the overwhelming opposition to <br />the project by the property owners. Motion unaminously carried by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Hoved by Councilmember otto and seconded by Councilmember Hudson that the ne"tv street <br />construction project for 7th-Vernon to Upland would remain as proposed unless the City <br />Council recieves a pet~tion opposing the improvement signed by the majority of the effected <br />property owners not later than June 21, 1976. Also call for plans and specifications. <br />Hotion unaminously carried by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember Konop that we accept and <br />call for the plans and specification for the sewer, water and street construction for <br />the extention of School Street west. Motion unaminously carried by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Hoved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember Konop to accept the proposed <br />seal coating project as presented and call for plans and specifications. Motion un- <br />aminously carried by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Hoved by Councilmember otto and seconded by Councilmembers to accept the following proposed <br />overlay project <br /> <br />4th Street-Hain to Proctor <br />4th Street-Horton to Hwy. 10 <br />Irving-hth to 5th <br />3rd Street-Irving to 550 East <br />Gates-East Side (between 3rd & Main) <br /> <br />and call for plans and specifications. Motion unaminously carried by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Konop and seconded by Councilmember Hudson to accept and call for <br />plans and specification for new bituminous surfacing on the following streets- <br /> <br />Holt-5t St. to 6th Street <br />Wand-8th Street to Xenia <br />5th-Highway 169 to County Rd. 13 <br /> <br />Motion unaminously carried by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Hoved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember otto not to surface Xenia- <br />Highway 10 to South because the property owners requested that it not be done at this <br />time. They want to wait until the sewer and water goes in first. Motion unaminously <br />carried by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />No further business the meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m. <br />
