• pruning,removing,spraying,or otherwise treating trees, shrubs or vines within the City of Elk <br /> River without first producing evidence of certification/license before the City of Elk River. <br /> 2. Exemption from License Requirement <br /> Provided,however,that no license shall be required on any public service company including <br /> electric utilities and their agents or city employees doing such work in the pursuit of their public <br /> service endeavors. <br /> 3. License Requirements <br /> An applicant for such a license must show proof that at least one employee of said business is <br /> certified by the I.S.A.as an arborist. <br /> 4. License Requirement: Insurance Coverage <br /> Any applicant for a tree service business license shall provide at the time of application a <br /> certificate of insurance showing insurance coverage for general liability,automobile liability, <br /> worker's compensation,and other coverages required by law in minimum amounts set by the Tree <br /> Advisory Committee resolution. <br /> Applications for a new tree service contractor's license or renewal must be accompanied by proof <br /> that the licensee has current workers compensation insurance coverage as required by Minnesota <br /> Code, if applicable. <br /> 5. License Fee <br /> Fees shall be established from time to time by resolution of the City of Elk River City Council <br /> taking into consideration recommendations of the City of Elk River Tree Advisory Committee and <br /> • the City Administrator. <br /> 6. Work Practices <br /> All licensees shall be responsible for the work performed under the provisions of this chapter and <br /> shall comply with the professional standards as noted in Section_of this chapter. All licensees <br /> shall comply with the City of Elk River's Forestry Policies and Specifications for planting,pruning <br /> and removal. <br /> 7. Work Practices: Safety <br /> All power equipment used by a licensee shall include reasonable safety devices to protect <br /> employees and other persons. <br /> Provide safety measures and equipment to protect workers and the public. <br /> 8. Work Practices: Display License <br /> The licensee shall display the license to any of its customers or City officials upon demand. <br /> 9. Work Practices: Obey Rules <br /> Obey all orders or notices issued under the authority of the City Forester. <br /> 10. Work Practices: Vehicles <br /> • Provide all vehicles used in the operation of the business with identification and letters a minimum <br /> of 2 inches in height and a color contrasting with the background. The identification shall include <br /> the following information: a. Name of Company b. Business Address c. Business Telephone <br /> 10 <br />
