<br />o <br /> <br />REGULAR SEMI-MONTHLY MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF ELK RIVER <br />HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE CITY OFFICE BLDG. <br /> <br />September 15, 1975 at 7:30 PM. <br /> <br />The Regular Semi-Monthly Meeting of the Elk River City Council was called to order by <br />Mayor Lundberg on September 15, 1975 at 7: 30 PM. in the Council Chambers of the City <br />office building. Members present were as follows: M~or Lundberg, Councilmembers Konop <br />Syring and otto. <br /> <br />The minutes of the September 2, 1975 meeting were reviewed as there were no additions <br />or corrections the minutes were approved as printed. <br /> <br />Dan Greene, City Insurance Agent met with the C0lll1ci1 and reviewed our City insurance <br />coverage to date. Mr. Greene recommended that the City add the Inland Marine Equip- <br />ment Policy to our coverage, reason being to insure the items such as chain saws, battery <br />chargers etc. to cover for loss damage and theft. which prior to this were not covered. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember otto and seconded by Councilmember Syring that we include the <br />Inland Marine Equipment Insurance to our insurance coverages. Motion unanimously carried <br />by a vote of 4-lJ. <br /> <br />Dale Palmer, Sherburne County Auditor met with the Council regarding tax forfeited land <br />that the Baptist Church would like to purchase for a parking lot however there is <br />$2,115.76 of assessments owing on this track of land. <br /> <br />~.M. oved by. C ouncilmember SYring and seconded by Councilmember Konop adopting the resolution <br />in the Re-Sa1e of Tax Forfeited Assessment Land. Motion unanimously carried by a vote of <br />. A cop,y of the resolution is attached. <br /> <br />Mr. Swanson, who lives at 310 2nd Street met with the Council regarding a resident in his <br />neighborhood who does not cut his weeds. The Council stated that they would have Ken <br />Nelson check to see if these were abnoxious weeds. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember SYring and seconded by Counci1member otto adopting the resolution <br />of Governing Body of Applicant sewer system evaluation survey. Motion unanimously carried <br />by a vote of 4-Q. A cop,y of the resolution is attached. <br /> <br />Moved by Counci1member otto and seconded by Councilmember Konop approving the M~or' s <br />appointment of Stan Moreland to the Elk River Park Board to fill the fifth position for <br />a term of Sept. 15, 1975 to Dec. 31, 1976. Motion unanimously carried by a vote of J.v-IJ. <br /> <br />The Chamber of Commerce requested the City to consider sharing in the energy cost for <br />lighting of the three Welcome to Elk River signs. No action was taken at this time. <br /> <br />Mayor Lundberg gave a oral report on the School Bond issue that is coming up this fall. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Konop and seconded by Councilmember Otto authorizing the Swimming <br />Pool Committee the authority to with draw $500.00 from the Swimming Pool Fund to be <br />disbursed for advertising of the School Bond issue which includes a swimming pool, <br />Motion unanimously carried by a vote of J.v-IJ. <br /> <br />~he Council reviewed the Finance Committee report. <br /> <br />' representative of the School met with the Council regarding requesting City approval <br />to have fireworks for their half time entertainment for their Home Comming Game October 10, <br />1975. Council had no objections as long as the Fire Chief is notified. <br />
