<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF ELK RIVER <br />HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE CITY OFFICE BLDG. <br /> <br />December 2, 1974 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Regular Semi-Monthly meeting of the Elk River City Council was called to order <br />by Mayor Lundberg on December 2, 1974 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the <br />City Office Bldg. Members present were as follows: Mayor Lundberg, Councilmembers <br />Syring, Burke, and Hudson. <br /> <br />The minutes of the November 18, 1974 were reviewed. The motion pertaining to the <br />Liaison Officerwas corrected to include that Chief Joe Zerwas has the authority to <br />hire the person he feels best qualified. No further corrections, the minutes were <br />approved as printed. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember Cooper approving the <br />resolution establishing a street, known as Vernon Avenue to be traveled <br />Southwesterly from Eighth Street to the Highway 10 right-of-way. Motion unanimously <br />carried by a vote of 4-0. A copy of the resolution is attached. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Cooper and seconded by Councilmember Hudson that the Mayor <br />be authorized to file a affiQavit of default with the Sherburne County Register of <br />Deeds against Ridgewood East (Development Conditions). Motion unanimously carried <br />by a vote of 4-0. A copy of the affidavit of Default is att,ached.. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember Cooper that the City <br />enter into a snow removal agreement with Wakefield and Lundberg. Attorneys at <br />Law $3.00 per time for their parking space behind their office building. Motion <br />carried 3-0. Mayor Lundberg 6bstained. <br /> <br />Mayor Lundberg reviewed brieny his list of 1975 Committee appointments. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember Syring approving the <br />Architects color schemes for the exterior of the Northbound Liquor Store Building. <br />Motion unanimously carried by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Syring and. seconded by Councilmember Copper approving the <br />paying of the General Government bills for payment as listed. Motion unanimously <br />carried by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember Syring approving the <br />payment of $9.00 to John Oliver for maps that he made for the Planning Commission. <br />Motion unanimously carried by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember Cooper authorizing <br />the purchase of a stand for the Xerox copy machine. Motion unanimously carried <br />by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />8:05 p.m. Mayor Lundberg declared the public hearing on the proposed roadways for the <br />peat bog open. <br /> <br />Ben Roper, Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Garrison were in attendance for the hearing. They <br />voiced no objections to the proposal. Therefore the Mayor declared the hearing <br />closed as there were no others present. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Cooper and seconded by Councilmember Hudson approving the <br />adapt ion of the Street Map Ordinance. A copy of the ordinance is attached. Motion <br />was unanimously carried by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Mark Rieschl met with the Council and submitted four (4) types of alarm systems <br />that could be used in the present Liquore Store, and the future store. <br />
