MEETING NOTES <br /> • <br /> ELK RIVER PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> WORKSHOP MEETING <br /> TUESDAY, APRIL 9, 2002 <br /> Members Present: Chair Pederson, Commissioners Anderson,Baker(arrived at 6:35 p.m.), <br /> Jenson, Mesich and Ropp <br /> Members Absent: Commissioner Franz <br /> Staff Present: Michele McPherson,Director of Planning;Scott Harlicker,Senior Planner <br /> 1. Call Meeting To Order <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof,the meeting of the Elk River Planning Commission <br /> was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Pederson. <br /> 2. Election of Officers <br /> Director of Planning Michele McPherson opened the nominations for Chair of the Planning <br /> Commission. <br /> Commissioner Mesich nominated Mark Pederson to serve as Chair for another year. The <br /> motion was seconded by Commissioner Anderson. Having no other nominations, <br /> IIInominations were closed. <br /> UPON A VOICE VOTE, ALL VOTING AYE, COMMISSIONER PEDERSON <br /> WAS ELECTED CHAIR. <br /> Commissioner Pederson called for nominations for the position of Vice-Chair. <br /> Commissioner Mesich nominated Commissioner Ropp to serve as Vice-Chair.The motion <br /> was seconded by Commissioner Jenson. Having no other nominations,nominations were <br /> closed. <br /> UPON A VOICE VOTE,ALL VOTING AYE, COMMISSIONER ROPP WAS <br /> ELECTED VICE-CHAIR FOR THE NEXT YEAR. <br /> 2. Review Becker Proposal <br /> Paul Quarberg of Tollefson Development was present to review the latest changes to the <br /> subdivision proposal for the Becker property. A 3.8 acre area has been identified for a <br /> potential park. Mr.Quarberg indicated that Town and Country Homes,S.W.Wold,and <br /> Monarch Homes would construct the various dwelling types within the subdivision. The <br /> Commission discussed sidewalk connection between this parcel and Trott Brook Farms, <br /> wetland impacts, and design guidelines. <br /> Commissioner Baker stated that he would like to somehow control townhomes and did not <br /> feel that additional townhomes were needed in the City. <br /> III <br />
