______,
.(*--
•lk River
Municipal Utilities
322 King Avenue phone: 763.441.2020
Elk River,MN 55330 Fax:763.441.8099
August 8, 2001 ,
To: Michele McPherson—City Planner/City of Elk River
From: Bryan C. Adams
Subject: Elk River Station
This memo is in follow-up to our plan review meeting on August 8, 2001 for Elk River
Station. The latest revision to these drawings are dated August 6, 2001. My comments
are as follows:
Water—Drawing C-2
. 1) Due to the size of the project, calculation to verify the proposed main size of 8"
and 6" should be provided.
2) Main location and sizes are only shown for the main streets (`Bowtie") Water
Main System must also be looped through the townhouse areas and apartment
complex areas. Proposed location for valves and hydrants should also be shown.
3) Revised water main layout should also take into account appropriate fire hydrant
locations and spacing to satisfy fire code and fire chief requirements.
4) Will the townhouses be metered individually or through 1 building meter paid by
the association. Latter is typical for Elk River.
5) Is underground lawn sprinkling being considered and if so, where are the feed
points.
Electric
1) Connexus Energy will be the electric utility provider for this development.
2) Street Lighting plan should follow ERMU standards.
3) Utility easement are only shown adjacent to the main roads ("Bowtie"). How
will the townhouses and apartment complex be served.
4) Adequate easements must be provided to all townhouses and apartments for
electric, telephone, cable TV, gas, etc. See attached pictures for typical easement
installations. Keep in mind there may be 2 or more different telephone providers
and cable TV providers.
•
