<br />REGULAR MEETING <br />Aug. 5, 1974 <br />at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Members present: Mayor Lundberg, Councilmembers Cooper, syring, ano <br />Burke. <br /> <br />The minutes of the July 17, 1974w'ere approved after one correction <br />on the motion pertaining to the Liquor Store employees. COrrectionf <br />\"lere made on the original copy. <br /> <br />Butch Elliot l"epresenting the Downtown businessman requesting that <br />the City Council consider the purchasing of a street sweeper and <br />because of the gdded area that will require sweeping such as the <br />new downto\'ln l,arking lot. The Council stated thE!.t the improvement! <br />Committee have been considering the need for a new sweeper. <br /> <br />Rex Oetinger met with the COuncil regarding some Bldg. permit <br />applications. that will require variances. He also submitted his <br />progress report on the Teen Center. He stated th8.t they s.re complying <br /> <br />to all the rec;uired regulations. <br /> <br />The Council rf:ceived the letter from ct ty Attorney John Me.cgibbon~ <br />regarding the increase in the lease agreement with B.N. for the .. <br />parking lots. The City agreed to pay the increase however, it's .. <br />letter should also be drafted to the effect that we are paying <br />under protest. <br /> <br />The Council a]80 received the letter from John MacGibbon regardin6 <br />Bob Olson. The Council stated that there will not be any more <br />negottiation, that matter is closed. <br /> <br />~:06 P.M. the mayor declareo the receiving of bids for the Iron <br />Removal plant and the Deep Well closed. <br /> <br />Moved by Gouncilmember Syring and seconded by councilmember Burke tc <br />B.ccapt and a\'J'P.rd the lowest bid on the Iron removal pla.nt to Lee <br />Richards Inc; subject to the final tabulation by the CIty Engineers. <br />The motion \oT9B unanimously carried by. a vote of 4~o <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Cooper and seconded by Council~ember <br />to accept and award the lowest bid on the Deep Well to R.E. <br />& Co. subject to the final tabulation by the C1ty En~ineer. <br />unanimously cE.rried by a vote of 4~o. ~/ <br /> <br />The City Engireer and the Utilities Commission will confer on what <br />means_or route to take regarding ~~hool View first addition assessing. <br /> <br />Syring <br />Renner <br />Motion <br /> <br />The Council will set the date for the downtown Parkin;~ lot assessment. ... <br />hearing e.t tr.e next regular schedule committee meeting. ,.. <br /> <br />Moved by Cound.lmembers ~yring and seconded by Oounc.ilmember Burke <br />to approve thE: purchase .(If one single and one. double bike rake to be <br />purchaB~d from the parking Facility Fund Acct. not to exceed ~200.0C. <br />
