Phillip Casperson appeared before the City Council to ask what progress <br />was being made with the Peterson Addition road improvement and rail crossing. <br />It was explained to Mr. Casperson that easements were now being prepared .. <br />and that approval of the crossing was being secured from the :Burlington.... <br />Northern Railroad. No action was taken by the City Council on this item. <br /> <br />Open Mike Report <br /> <br />The City's Sewer Superintendent, Darrell Mack'J briefly discussed with the City. <br />Council the sewer backup situation involving Mr. Edward Schwartz on Ma.in Street. <br />Mr. Mack informed the Council that Mr. Schwartz had refused the installation of <br />ball check drains in his basement because he did not wish his basement floor <br />to be broken up. Mr. Mack also informed the City Council that additional <br />problems to those now being experienced, would oc.curwhen.the new school was built <br />and added to the sewer line, thus making a holding tank at the utilities water <br />treatment plant only a temporary solution. Councilman Otto suggested that the <br />parties concerned be invited to a future City Council meeting todiecuss the <br />pro~lem and possible solutions and that Darrell Mack return with additional <br />information, such as maps, street grades and profiles and additional solutions <br />if available. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />5. :Bid Award for Fire Apparatus <br /> <br />A representative of the Fire Department was present at the meeting and indicated <br />to the members of the City Council that the bids received by Superior Ford and <br />General Safety for the fire truck chassis and apparatus respectively were <br />acceptable with two additions: <br /> <br />1. The frame of the chassis should be lengthened at the cost of $30.00. . <br />2. The front axle should be set back at the cost of $390 .00. . .. <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN MOVED TO AWARD THE :BIns FOR FIRE APPARATUS TO SUPERIOR FORD <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $26.945.00 AND TO GENERAL SAFEI'Y IN THE AMOUNT OF $46.630.00 <br />PLUS THE AllOVE MENTIONED ADDITIONS. COUNCILMAN TOTH SIDONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />6. Bingo Ordinances <br /> <br />The City Attorney, Dave Sellergren, briefly presented the bingo ordinance to the <br />members of the City Council, explaining that the ordinance basically followed the <br />format of other ordinances adopted by municipalities in this area.. COUNCILMAN <br />DUITSMAN MOVED APPROVAL OF ORDINANCE 79-4. AUTHORIZING AND REGULATING :BINGO IN <br />THE CITY OF ELK RIVER. COUNCILMAN OTrO SIDONDED THE MOTION. MOTION PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />7. Resolution authorizing Municipal Utilities to join Power Cooperative <br /> <br />Discussion and action on this item was postponed pending action by the utilities <br />Commission on this item. <br /> <br />8.
