Purchase of Police Radar Unit <br /> <br />The City Administrator briefly explained a state wide purchase program available to <br />the City, which would provide a police radar unit at a very low cost. COUNCILMAN <br />DUITSMAN MOVED TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A POLICE RADAR UNIT AND TO REAPPROPRIATE <br />$150 FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT CAPITAL FXWIPMENT BUDGET FOR SAID PURCHASE. <br />COUNCILMAN ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />13. City Council Meeting Date and Tentative Agenda <br /> <br />. <br />COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN MOVED TO ESTABLISH THE NEXT CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE FOR <br />FEBRUARY 19, 1979, IF PERMITTED BY STATE LAW. Resolution 79-1 Regarding the Central Minnesota Regional Development Commissions <br />Overall Economic Develo~ment Plan <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN ENGSTROM MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 79-1 SUPPORTING THE REGION 7W OVERALL <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND RECOMMENDING THAT THE SHERBURNE COUNTY OOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS ALSO APPROVE SAID OVERALL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN. COUNCILMAN <br />DUITSMAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />15. Parking in Downtown Elk River <br /> <br />Councilman Duitsman indicated that he had been approached by certain citizens asking <br />that angle parking be considered on Main Street one block to the west of the area <br />already utilized in the downtown area for angle parking. The City Administrator <br />suggested that this matter be brought before the Planning Commission and the Retailers <br />Association. It was the Council consensus to have these bodies look into the matter <br />and report back with a recommendation to the City Council. <br /> <br />In the discussion of other parking difficulties in the downtown area, it was the <br />consensus of the City Council that the following actions be taken: <br /> <br />1. More strict enforcement of parking violations regarding Marty' s Auto Garage <br />on Main Street. <br />2. That timed parking in the municipal parking lot be enforced more strictly than <br />in the past. <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN TOTH MOVED THAT THE MEETING BE ADJOURNED.
