Slide presentation showed the solid waste delivered <br />for a fee, it is then sorted by sellable rretals, useable items then balance of <br />waste shreded, guup and slurried, result base for the various by products. <br />After discussion the Council recorrmended that the Elk River Associated Investers <br />and AIR Research; Inc. representatives set up a rreeting between the two organ- <br />izations. <br /> <br />Clifford Lundberg, met with the Council regarding letters that he sent to the <br />Council, 1. Salaries of Councilmembers. 2. Urban and Rural Taxing Districts. <br />The letter regarding Councilmembers salaries was forwarded onto the City <br />Attorney, David Sellergren, he in turn forwarded the rratter onto the Attorney <br />Generals Office for an opinion. As of this date no reply has l:Jeen received. <br />Item 2., Urban and Rural Taxing District, the Council stated that they would <br />review this rratter prior to su1::mitting the 1979 City Budget to the County <br />Auditor. Councilmember Toth and Otto questioned Mr. Lundberg, that why in <br />fact if he was aware that during the periods of negotiation for consolidation <br />that the Urban and RI,rral Taxing District were not proper as to the legality <br />then, why wasn I t the question asked or other members of the old City Council <br />properly advised. Mr. Lundberg, stated that he felt that consolidation approval <br />at that point was Hore ~rtant and that the taxing districts could be changed <br />at a later date. <br /> <br />The letter su1::mitted by Darrell Mack, City Disposal Plant Operator, regarding <br />the sewer line problems on the Larry Jordahl and city property was reviewed <br />and discussed. <br /> <br />M:>ved by Councilmember Dui tsrran and seconded by Councilmernber Toth approving <br />payment of $290.00 to A.N. Johnson Construction Co. for the work prefonned on <br />city sewer line which consists of half the total invoice. Balance of invoice <br />is $290.00 which should be billed to Larry Jordahl. I.Vbtion unanimously carried <br />by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Dutch Elm Inspector, Terry Mack and City Council discussed the 1978 diseased <br />tree program. <br /> <br />M:>ved by Councilmernber Otto and seconded by Counci 1 TT'lG11J~r~tsrran authorizing <br />_ - -'1rUie-a-s~ <br />the Clerk to advertise for bids for the rerroval ofAuees- - stumps on public <br />and private properties.
