March 17, 1980 Page 2 suggested tabling of the radial gates contract award until the final contract could be drawn to include installation of the electric openers, and percentage hold backs. Mr. cayle Bare of Armco indicated that Armco would proceed on schedule with the drawings, based on a verbal go-ahead by the City Council. Mayor Madsen indicated to Mr. Gayle Bare to proceed as scheduled and the con- tract award would be made at the April 7, 1980, City Council meeting. 7. Fire Station Land Mayor Madsen indicated Loretta Moos had approached the City to purchase the land adjoining the fire station for a price of $40,000. Mayor Madsen further indicated that other parties were interested in the land and that the City should decide now as to whether they are interested in purchasing the land or not. Councilman Toth suggested there was some question as to what the City owns now and where the boundaries are. Mayor Madsen suggested referring the purchase of the land to the Public Safety Committee and Fire Chief, Lloyd Barthel, for recommendation as to need required. Councilman Toth indicated that there would no longer be enough room at the fire station for the require- ments of storage the department has 'when the new truck arrives. COUNCILMAN TOTH MOVED TO APPROVE THE REFERRAL OF THE PURCHASE OF THE LAND ADJOINING THE FIRE STATION TO THE PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE FOR RECOMMENDATION. COUNCILMAN ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION PASSED 3-0. 8. Non-Con Items A. 3.2 beer license for Elk River Country Club COUNCILMAN OTTO MOVED APPROVAL OF THE 3.2 BEER LICENSE FOR ELK RIVER COUNTRY CLUB. COUNCILMAN TOTH SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION PASSED 3-0. B. 3.2 beer license forAl Nadeau and Keith Robideau, Crossroads Cafe COUNCILMAN OTTO MOVED APPROVAL OF THE 3.2 BEER LICENSE FOR AL NADEAU AND KEITH ROBIDEAU AT THE CROSSROADS CAFE. COUNCILMAN TOTH SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION PASSED 3-0. 9. Check Register COUNCILMAN OTTO MOVED APPROVAL OF THE CHECK REGISTER. COUNCILMAN ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION PASSED 3-0. 10. Tentative Agenda The contract award for the radial gates, the fire station land purchase, and an update on the status of the dam project are all items tentatively scheduled for the April 7, 1980, City Council meeting. There being no further business, COUNCILMAN TOTH MOVED THE MEETING BE ADJOURNED. COUNCILMAN OTTO SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION PASSED 3-0.
