Planning Commission Meeting Date <br /> <br />The City Administrator confirmed the Planning Commission meeting dates in <br />August of August 2nd and August 30th. <br /> <br />F. Open Meeting Law <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the League of Minnesota Cities has en- <br />dorsed a policy regarding the open meeting law. It was the general consensus <br />of the City Council to support the League of Minnesota Cities policy regarding <br />the open meeting law. <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO CONTACT THE <br />CANDIDATES FOR THE REPRESENTATIVE SEAT AND SENATOR CHUCK DAVIS REGARDING THE <br />CITY OF ELK RIVER'S POSITION ON THE OPEN MEETING LAW. COUNCILMAN TOTH SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />Discussion was carried on regarding cars continually crossing over the double <br />yellow line in the downtown area. It was the suggestion of the City Council <br />that the City Administrator request the Police Chief to authorize his officers <br />to walk in the downtown area periodically and to give citiations to offenders <br />crossing the double yellow line. <br /> <br />22. Check Register <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN TOTHMOVED TO APPROVE THE JULY 19TH, 1982 CHECK REGISTER. COUNCILMAN <br />DUITSMAN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />23. Tentative Agenda <br /> <br />Review of the Planning Commission's request for holding public hearings and the <br />Recreation Board Resolutions are items tentatively scheduled for the August 9, <br />1982 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />There being no further business, COUNCILMAN SCHULDT MOVED THAT THE MEETING BE ADJOURNED. <br />COUNCILMAN ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION.
