Final Approval of Storm Sewer Concept and Ordering the Feasibility Study for
Possible Construction

The City Administrator indicated that Mr. Terry Mauer of Consulting Engineers Diver-
sified, would present the final concept for the storm drainage system in the central
portion of the City of Elk RivE;r. The City Administrator further indicated that
the current concept has reflected all of the changes and requests of the City Coun-
cil regarding the storm sewer system. The City Administrator indicated that the
storm sewer system as proposed in the concept plan, is broken down into three seg-
ments, and further indicated that in order to proceed with the School Street improve-
ment, it would be necessary for the City to construct some sort of interim storm
sewer system. The City Administrator indicated that it is recommended that the
City Council approve the concept for the storm sewer system as presented and further
indicated that if the City Council approves the concept, it will then be incorporated
into the final storm sewer report.

Councilm~nDuitsman questioned where the limit of the proposed concept was authorized.
Councilman Duitsman further indicated that there was concern for the Industrial Park
and expected the plan should be one total comprehensive plan including the whole
north side of the City. Councilman Toth indicated that he was under the impression
that the west section of the north side of the City would be included in the concept
plan. The City Administrator indicated that the west section would be a separate
district and in order to proceed with the School Street project, the proposed con-
cept must be approved.

Councilman Duitsman indicated that he wanted a total comprehensive plan for the
storm sewer system for the north side of the City before final approval of the
presented concept plan.

COUNCILMAN TOTH MOVED TO APPROVE THE CONCEPT FOR THE STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEM AS PRE-
SENTED WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT A FINAL CONCEPT PLAN FOR A STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEM
FOR THE TOTAL NORTHERN SECTION WILL BE SUBMITTED. COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN SECONDED THE
MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0.

The City Administrator indicated that the City Council could approve a feasibility
study of the segments involved with the School Street improvement project, as the
west area would involve a different storm sewer district.

COUNCILMAN DUITSMANfMOVEllTQ.AUTHOIZEJTRE,OR:QERING OF A FEASIBILITY STUDYFO'R.:THE THREE
SEGMENTS OF THE STORM SEWER SYSTEM AND POND NUMBER 4 .
