Item# 6.1. <br /> iyof � <br /> .lkRiver MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: Planning Commission <br /> • <br /> FROM: Michele McPherson,Director of Planning <br /> DATE: February 29, 2000 <br /> SUBJECT: Determine if Sale of Property at King and Main Streets <br /> Is Consistent with the Comprehensive Plan <br /> Request <br /> The Planning Commission is asked to determine if the proposed sale of the <br /> parcel located at King and Main Streets is consistent with the City's <br /> Comprehensive Plan. <br /> • Location <br /> The northwest corner of the intersection of King and Main Streets. <br /> Zoning and Land Use <br /> Cl (Office)/CB (Central Business) <br /> Overview <br /> The City's Housing and Redevelopment Authority acquired the property in <br /> 1996. The existing buildings were removed and the site has remained vacant <br /> since 1997. The city is preparing to enter into a purchase agreement with <br /> First National Bank to sell the property for construction of an office building. <br /> Analysis <br /> Minnesota State Statutes require the Planning Commission to make a <br /> determination if the sale of city-owned property is consistent with the <br /> Comprehensive Plan. First National Bank intends to construct a building for <br /> offices for their mortgage/financial services divisions. Offices are a permitted <br /> • use in the Cl district.
