Bloomington is a fitting <br /> location for this year's conference because a number of major <br /> planning initiatives are underway nearby. Massive airport <br /> improvements, LRT, continued development around the Mall of <br /> America, and neighborhood redevelopment are all happening in <br /> and around Bloomington. Many of these issues are topics of <br /> • conference sessions, and are bound to appeal to professional and <br /> citizen planners alike. There are also many sessions dealing with <br /> rural issues and concerns in Greater Minnesota. <br /> The theme of the conference — Y2Plan, Staying Ahead in a <br /> Changing World—does not imply that the conference will assist <br /> you in last minute Y2K bug exterminations. But it will provide <br /> ideas, concepts and tools that you can use into 2000 and beyond. <br /> Fun always complements a learning environment.
