The second addition, Area B, is a <br /> 4,500 square foot expansion located on the east side of the building; it will include <br /> additional classrooms. <br /> Site Plan <br /> The proposed expansion complies with the setback requirements and the lot coverage <br /> requirements on the R I c zoning district. Parker Elementary School is located on the <br /> same 28-acre site as Lincoln Elementary School. <br /> Building Elevations <br /> The exterior elevations of the proposed expansion will be the same brick material as <br /> the existing building. Expansion area "A" is located in the back of the building and will <br /> not be visible from the street. Expansion area "B" located on the east end of the <br /> building is visible from School Street. <br /> Parking <br /> The parking lot for Parker Elementary School has 81 parking spaces. The parking <br /> requirement for elementary schools is 2 spaces for each classroom. The school has 3 I <br /> classrooms, including the proposed expansion areas. Therefore, the parking <br /> • <br /> requirement for the school is 62 parking spaces. <br /> Landscaping <br /> The ordinance requires 28 trees .The applicant will be given credit for existing 15 <br /> deciduous trees along School Street and 5 conifers along the west side of the parking <br /> lot.. The proposed landscape plan includes 8 Black Hills Spruce planted along the east <br /> side of the existing parking lot, 8 crab trees and 2 sugar maples are proposed along the <br /> front of the school. <br /> Signage <br /> No new signage, other than parking lot directional signage, is proposed. There is an <br /> existing monument sign along School Street. <br /> Grading and Utilities <br /> No significant grading is proposed.
