❑ Ability to operate heavy and light motorized maintenance equipment. <br />❑ Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with a wide variety of <br />park and street related groups. <br />❑ Ability to organize and guide public policy discussions that apply to parks, trails and street <br />matters. <br />❑ Ability to remain up to date on professional knowledge and skills. <br />❑ Ability to effectively supervise, direct, and motivate employees. <br />❑ Ability to lift 50 pounds. <br />Minimum Qualifications <br />❑ High school diploma or equivalent. <br />❑ Two year degree in related field. <br />❑ Five years of supervisory experience in a public works department or equivalent experience. <br />❑ Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License <br />Preferred Qualifications <br />❑ Bachelors Degree in Engineering. BA Biology, BA Environmental Science <br />❑ Public Works Certification. <br />❑ Technical training in Public Works Administration. <br />❑ Seven years progressively responsible experience in developing parks and trails. <br />❑ Five years supervisory experience of a division or department with numerous employees. <br />❑ Demonstrated experience working with volunteers, youth associations, or citizen groups. <br />Familiarity with natural resource management, including sensitive ecosystems, <br />comprehensive park and land use planning and the role of public spaces in developing a <br />sense of community. <br />This Position Description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
