Ach, City Planner DATE: August 17, 1995 SUBJECT: Agenda Items Introduction The purpose of this meeting is to present all of the recommendations that have been made by the Steering Committee over the past year and a half. Once all these recommendations are confirmed by the Committee, the text of the comprehensive plan can then be updated by including the new recommendations. If there are any amendments or new recommendations that need to be included, Thursday's meeting would be the appropriate time to bring those items up for discussion. As a reminder, the recommendations from the Committee will be forwarded on to the Planning Commission where • a public hearing will be held and a recommendation will then be made to the City Council. Amendments to the plan can certainly be made during either one of those next two meetings. Chamber Task Force In addition to discussing the recommendations that have been made by the Steering Committee, the Chamber Task Force will also be presenting their findings for the downtown. Attached (Exhibit A) is a list of the Task Force recommendations for the Steering Committee to consider. Residential - (Eastern Area) At the last Steering Committee meeting it was suggested that the appropriate zoning for the eastern area be discussed at the August 17th meeting. The Committee should consider this issue as it relates to the "ultimate" urban service area. Lastly, the attached Exhibit B lists staff recommendations for items that should be included in the goals and policies for residential development.
