Memo to Steering Committee Page 4 <br /> August 17, 1995 <br /> III • The zoning designation of properties currently zoned Rib should be <br /> changed to Ric, and certain properties zoned Rlc changed to Rld, <br /> as determined by the City Council. <br /> • Rear yard building setback requirements in all residential districts <br /> should be changed from 10 feet to 35 feet. <br /> • This ordinance amendment is being presented to the Planning <br /> Commission this month (August 22) <br /> 4. Transportation <br /> • A joint committee consisting of representatives from the City of Elk <br /> River, Sherburne County, Big Lake Township, Anoka County, <br /> Wright County, City of Otsego, and Mn/Dot study the need for an <br /> east-west corridor and its appropriate alignment. <br /> • The City continue to study options for a transportation route <br /> crossing the Elk River in the vicinity of Waco Street alignment. <br /> 5. Parks and Recreation <br /> Ill • A new zoning district be created for all city parks. <br /> • The land use designation on the Sherburne County Fairgrounds <br /> parking lot be changed from L-1 (Light Industrial) to OS (Open <br /> Space). <br /> 6. Expansion of Urban Service Area <br /> • Attached is a map (Exhibit C) illustrating the expanded urban <br /> service area toward the east along Highway 10. This map <br /> illustrates the Steering Committee recommendation for the urban <br /> service area. <br /> • The Committee also recommended expanding the urban service <br /> area north of Meadowvale Elementary School. This <br /> recommendation has already been approved by the City Council as <br /> part of a development proposal for the subject property. <br /> 7. Land Use and Zoning Changes <br /> 411/ <br /> • Attached are maps illustrating the land use and zoning changes <br /> recommended by the Steering Committee. <br />
