Planning Commission Page 10 <br />March 27, 2018 <br />proposed Tax Increment Financing District of the City of Elk River as <br />outlined in the staff report. <br />Motion carried 6-0. <br />8.1 City Council Liaison Update <br />Councilmember Wagner provided a council update with regard to proposed zone <br />changes specifically to the I1, I2, and Commercial Recreation areas, and three <br />members of the youth baseball association spoke at the council meeting in <br />opposition of the city removing the commercial recreation use in the industrial <br />district and the negative affect it would have on all youth sports. She indicated <br />Acting Chair Larson -Vito provided additional information to the council to explain <br />the Planning Commission's perspective on those changes. She stated the City <br />Council did accept the ordinance changes as presented with the exception of <br />removing commercial recreation use in the I1, I2, and I3 zones.
