The City Administrator indicated that in the process of digging <br />the pond for the storm drainage system, it is recommended that the pond be <br />dug deeper for the proposed pond in the park which would be approximately <br />$27,000 in additional costs. The City Administrator indicated that it would <br />take another approximate $20,000.00 to move the dirt around and shape the land <br />around the ponding area. The City Administrator indicated that it would take <br />approximately $50,000.00 to dig the pond deeper and shapw the ponding area <br />which could be added to the bond sale for the storm sewer project. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the City Conncil that approximately $50,000.00 for <br />the ponding and the shaping of the ponding area be added to the proposed bond <br />sale for the storm sewer project. <br /> <br />B. School Street Improvement Project <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the overlay of School Street was com- <br />pleted Friday, and all the street signs are up and the project is completed. <br /> <br />C. Joint Meeting with HRA and Downtown Development Group <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that a joint meeting of the HRA and the Down- <br />town Development Group is scheduled for Tuesday night July 19, at 7:30 p.m. <br />at the First National Bank Building. <br /> <br />D. Nickerson Property <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the City built the wall on the north <br />side of Mrs. Nlckerson's property and that the City authorized the payment of <br />$1,500.00 to offset the total amount of the assessment to the property, the <br />cost of the landscaping, and the small payment for easement-rights or nuisance <br />value of the improvement. The City Administrator indicated that Mrs. Nickerson <br />is anxious to get the matter resolved as quickly as possible. The City Admini- <br />strator further indicated that Mr. Ty Bischoff indicated that there were approx- <br />imately $3,000.00 in damages. The City Administrator further indicated that he <br />thought $4,000.00 would satisfy the damages fee, the appraisal fee, the land- <br />scaping costs for Mrs. Nickerson. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM M0VED TO AUTHORIZE PAYMENT OF $4,000 TO MRS. NICKERSON FOR <br />ACQUISITION OF THE NECESSARY EASEMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ORONO DAM. COUNCIL- <br />MEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br />18. Check Register <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULD MOVED TO APPROVE THE JULY 18, 1983, CHECK REGISTER. COUNCIL- <br />MEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br />
