Those values again are, welcoming community, neighborliness, family and respect. We initiated discussions with Mayor Duitsman to develop a welcome letter to new • families. It is our understanding that these were well received. We worked with Community Recreation and the Police Department to promote neighborhood get- togethers and put together a kit to help individuals to plan such an event. Recreation equipment is available on loan to help with entertainment. The piece I have enclosed is the result of our discussions on respect. It was generally agreed that some public meetings have the potential for getting out of control. We thought that maybe a reminder of"Civility at Meetings" could be used at meetings of the City Council, School Board, Planning and Zoning Commissions, etc. Perhaps a reminder would enable people to take a different tack in their approach. Before we distribute this piece, we would value your feedback. Would you use it? What changes would you make? How should it be distributed?
