• • Guardian Angels • CARE CENTER 400 Evans Avenue • Elk River, Minnesota 55330 Telephone: (612) 441-1213 • Fax: (612) 241-4444 REASON FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT Guardian Angels Health Services is seeking to expand the occupancy of our on site child care center, Little Angels Child Care Center. Currently Little Angels is licensed for 16 children and we are requesting approval to expand to a maximum of 31 children. This is due to our growing waiting list of children desiring to enroll in our center. Little Angels is located within Guardian Angels Care Center and is designed primarily for the staff of Guardian Angels. Approximately sixty percent of the children currently enrolled in the center are children of staff members. The remainder consists of children from the community. Given this we have minimal added traffic and parking poses no current problems. Even with the proposed expansion, the majority of the traffic flow will remain stable as many on our waiting list are the children of our existing staff The center, as noted above, is located within Guardian Angels Care Center. This proposed expansion will not alter the outside of our current physical structure and will only require minimal changes to the interior. We anticipate adding a restroom in the child care center in order to meet State licensing requirements. No additional physical plant changes are anticipated by granting this request. In closing, Little Angels Child Care Center provides a valuable service to our employees, residents and the community. The benefits of our center are tremendous.
