<br /> <br />Request for Action <br /> <br />To Item Number <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council 6.3 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br /> <br /> <br />April 16, 2018 <br />Presentation Awards <br />Michael Hecker, Parks and Recreation Director <br /> <br />and Acknowledgement <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br /> <br />Resolution Accepting Donation from Elk River <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br />Youth Basketball <br /> <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br /> <br />Action Requested <br /> <br />Presentation and Acknowledgment of donation from Elk River Boys Youth Basketball. <br /> <br />Adopt, by motion, a resolution acknowledging a donation from Elk River Boys Youth Basketball for the <br />enhancement of the basketball court at Lion John Weicht Park. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />This resolution acknowledges and accepts a donation of $13,400 from Elk River Boys Youth Basketball <br />(ERBYB) for the purchase and installation of four new basketball hoops and four new lights to enhance <br />the existing basketball courts at Lion John Weicht Park. <br /> <br />The existing court and hoops at Lions Park are no longer of a condition that attracts a high level use. <br />This donation, combined with the scheduled resurfacing of the court in 2019 will revitzlize this park <br />amenity to a higher standard.
