City Council Minutes Page 2 <br /> April 2,2018 <br /> ----------------------------- <br /> 4.7A Hire Clayton Aswegan as police officer effective April 16, 2018. <br /> 4.7B Hire Jeffrey O'Connell as police officer effective April 16, 2018. <br /> 4.8 Resolution 18-17 for summary publication of Ordinance 18-03. <br /> Motion carried 5-0. <br /> S. Open Forum <br /> Jack Lorge, 19490 Lowell Street—Stated seniors at the Activity Center completed a <br /> survey which indicates seniors are in support of sales tax funding and keeping the <br /> Activity Center at its current location. <br /> Mayor Dietz expressed concerns with inaccurate information in the survey questions. <br /> Council thanked Mr. Lorge for his comments. <br /> 6. Presentations, Awards, and Recognitions <br /> There were no items. <br /> 7. Public Hearings <br /> There were no public hearings. <br /> 8.1 Food Trucks <br /> Ms. Allard presented the staff report. <br /> Councilmember Wagner stated food trucks should be allowed on private property in <br /> the downtown district. She stated she is not in favor of the additional$40 fee to park <br /> in the downtown district. <br /> Councilmember Olsen concurred. <br /> Mayor Dietz expressed concerns with allowing food trucks on concert nights feeling <br /> there would be too many of them locating on private property. <br /> Councilmember Wagner stated she believed the market would self-regulate. <br /> Councilmember Westgaard reviewed past discussions about why Council discussed <br /> limiting trucks on concert nights due to congestion and traffic. He further suggested <br /> passing an ordinance and evaluating it at year-end. <br /> Moved by Councilmember Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Olsen <br /> to adopt Ordinance 18-04 amending Chapter 38 regarding Peddler's, <br /> Solicitors, Transient Merchants, and Mobile Food Units but changing the <br /> POWERED 0Y <br /> UREI <br />
