S <br /> B. Criminal Misconduct of Pawnbrokers. Minnesota Statutes Section 609.81 <br /> This old provision prohibits pawnbrokers from: <br /> (1) lending money on a pledge at a rate of interest above that <br /> allowed by law; <br /> (2) possessing stolen goods and refusing to permit a law <br /> enforcement officer to examine them during usual business hours; <br /> (3) after having sold pledged goods, refusing to disclose to the <br /> pledgor the name of the purchaser or the price for which the property sold; <br /> (4) making a loan on a pledge to a person under lawful age <br /> without the written consent of the person's parent or guardian. <br /> C. Data Practices Provision. Minnesota Statutes Section 13.82, subd. 13. <br /> '• Data that uniquely describe stolen, lost, confiscated, or recovered property <br /> or property described in pawn shop transaction records are classified as <br /> either private data on individuals or nonpublic data depending on the <br /> content of the not public data. <br /> D. State-Regulated Loan Companies. Minnesota Statutes Section 56.002. <br /> The chapter on state-regulated loans and state-licensed loan companies <br /> does not apply to "persons doing business under and as permitted by any <br /> law of this state or of the United States relating to . . .licensed <br /> pawnbrokers." <br /> 15 <br />
