This ordinance, per direction of the City <br /> Council, was modeled after the Sherburne County Conflict of Interest <br /> ordinance. <br /> • In 1994, the City Council further reviewed this Conflict of Interest ordinance <br /> and directed the City Attorney to make changes. The general feeling of the <br /> City Council was that the City Conflict of Interest ordinance went slightly <br /> "too far" and that, in its original form, the literal interpretation of the <br /> ordinance would prohibit many qualified individuals from serving on City <br /> Boards and Commissions. <br /> Attached for your review are two draft proposals for the revised Conflict of <br /> Interest ordinance. The City Council would like to obtain your feedback on <br /> these proposals prior to their consideration of the ordinance in later October, <br /> 1994. If you have any questions regarding these proposals, or would like me <br /> or the City Attorney to be present to discuss the ordinance with you, please <br /> feel free to contact me.
