<br />Page 6 <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />July 7. 1986 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE CITIZEN'S ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />MCOMMlNDATIONS TO PROCEED WITH THE FINANCING CONCEPT AND TO ALLOW THE <br />CITY STAFF TO PUT TOGETHER BUILDING SPECIFICATIONS AND TO GO OUT FOR <br />BIDS AND FURTHER THAT THE COST NOT EXCEED $250.000. COUNCILMEMBER <br />WILLIAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />6.4. Main Street Repairs/Patch <br /> <br />Phil Hals. Street Superintendent. indicated that the <br />considering doing some repair/patching on Main Street <br />Emmanual Lutheran Church and running 750 feet to the west. <br />the cost would be approximately $5.600 - $6.000. <br /> <br />city staff is <br />starting at <br />He indicated <br /> <br />Councilmember Williams stated he was reluctant to spend money to overlay <br />Main Street when there are plans to reconstruct Main Street in the near <br />future. <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding using some other less expensive method to <br />patch Main Street. The Street Superintendent indicated he would check <br />into the matter and see if he could find a less expensive way to patch <br />the area on Main Street. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER WILLIAMS MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE STREET SUPERINTENDENT TO <br />PROCEED WITH THE PATCHING OF MAIN STREET AND THAT THE COST NOT EXCEED <br />$2,500. COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4- <br />o. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE USE OF MSA DISCRETIONARY <br />FUNDS FOR THE $5,000 OVERLAY DONE ON MAIN STREET AND FOR THE $2.500 <br />OVERLAY PROJECT TO BE DONE ON MAIN STREET. COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />6.5. Resolution Authorizing Traffic Study on Tyler Street <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 86-38. A RESOLUTION <br />AUmOlUZING A TRAFFIC STUDY TO BE DONE ON TYLER STREET AND SMITH STREET <br />FROM COUNTY ROAD 13 TO COUNTY ROAD 33. COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />6.6. MnDOT Meeting <br /> <br />Terry Maurer. City Engineer, indicated that City Staff met with <br />representatives from MnDOT. Mr. Maurer noted that the City had requested <br />MnDDT to look at the possibility of putting in stop lights on School <br />Street and 169. He further explained that MnDOT is in the process of <br />submitting plans and specifications and noted they had run into some <br />problems with the alignment of Elk Hills Drive and School Street. <br /> <br />e <br />
