Pay Plan for City Department Heads <br /> <br />Finance Director Lori Johnson indicated that in attempting <br />to establish a step system within the department head salary <br />ranges, she had encountered problems due to the varying <br />length on ranges adopted by the City Council. <br /> <br />It was noted that there were errors in the City <br />Administrator's and Finance Director's ranges and that the <br />City Council would amend the minutes of the meeting at which <br />the ranges were adopted to reflect the necessary changes at <br />their next regular meeting. <br /> <br />16. Resolution Excluding the City Administrator from PERA <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 86-31 A <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ELECTION OF PATRICK D. KLAERS TO BE <br />EXCLUDED FROM THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION. <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED <br />4-0. <br /> <br />17. Other Business <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Check Register <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO APPROVE THE MAY 6, 1986 <br />CHECK REGISTER. COUNCILMEMBER WILLIAMS SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />St. Cloud State Intern <br /> <br />The City Administrator requested permission to allow an <br />intern from St. Cloud State to perform services for the <br />City for credit toward his degree. The City <br />Administrator proposed to enter into a contract with the <br />intern, (providing he found the candidate acceptable <br />during the interview process), for a 2 month period at <br />40 hours per week and to pay the intern a total of <br />$1,000 for his services. Mr. Klaers stated that the <br />intern would work on recertification of the Star City <br />Program (for the Economic Development Commission) and <br />also planning and zoning duties. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO PROCEED WITH HIRING AN INTERN FROM ST. <br />CLOUD STATE WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: <br /> <br />1. THAT THE CANDIDATE IS FOUND ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR DURING THE INTERVIEW PROCESS. <br /> <br />e <br />
