Councilmembers Engstrom. Schuldt. Gunkel <br />and Williams <br /> <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: None <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Tom Bublitz; City Administrator. Steve Rohlf; Building <br />Inspector. and Lori Johnson; Finance Director <br /> <br />1. The Elk River City Council meeting was called to order by Mayor Hinkle at <br />7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Agenda <br /> <br />Items 6D Seminar. 8A Survey. and 8B - Marv Dawson and Zoning <br />Discussion were added to the agenda. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO APPROVE THE JANUARY 27. 1986 CITY COUNCIL <br />AGINDA AS AMENDED. COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />3. Consideration of January 21. 1986 City Council Minutes <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL <br />MINUTES AS SUBMITTED . <br />MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />MOVED TO APPROVE THE JANUARY 21. 1986 CITY COUNCIL <br />COUNCILMEMBER WILLIAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br /> <br />4. Consideration of Building and Zoning Administrator Recruitment <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that he had interviewed six candidates <br />for the Building and Zoning Administrator position and was unable to <br />recommend any of them for further consideration. He indicated he was <br />aooking for someone with a fair amount of experience and found no one <br />which he felt he could recommend for appointment. He indicated there <br />was one candidate which did have the experience but was asking for more <br />salary than the City could afford to pay. <br /> <br />The City Administrator stated that Steve Rohlf has filled in since Rick <br />Breezee's departure and has proved that he is capable of handling the <br />duties of the position. He indicated he would like to see Steve Rohlf <br />considered for the position. and stated he felt Steve had the potential <br />to learn the job and be productive in the area of zoning. <br /> <br />Steve Rohlf indicated he was hoping to get someone in the position he <br />could learn something from. He stated it would be hard to work for <br />someone who has no more qualifications than himself. <br />
