CU 93-40 <br /> REQUESTED ACTION <br /> A conditional use permit request to encroach on the 300 foot <br /> setback for a metal skin building. <br /> LOCATION OF REQUEST <br /> 11063-207 Avenue NW, Elk River, MN (Southeast 1/4, Northwest <br /> 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4, Section 14, Township 33, Range 26 , <br /> Sherburne County, MN) . A complete legal description is <br /> available at City Hall . <br /> ZONING/LAND USE <br /> Al (Agricultural) / A (Agricultural) <br /> ATTACHMENTS <br /> • Location Map, Site Plan, Zoning Map, Property Owners List <br /> OVERVIEW <br /> Steve LaTour is requesting a conditional use permit to <br /> construct an agricultural metal skin building located 200 feet <br /> from a neighboring home. The proposed structure will measure <br /> 32 x 24 feet ( 768 square feet) . Metal skin buildings are <br /> required to meet a 300 foot setback from any neighboring <br /> dwelling. The proposed building will be located to the west of <br /> Mr. LaTour' s home. The rear of the property is heavily wooded <br /> and therefore, will act as a buffer from the neighboring home. <br /> Mr. LaTour could construct a 768 square foot building and not <br /> need a conditional use permit if the building was constructed <br /> of a non metal material . Mr. LaTour has indicated that this <br /> structure will be used as a shelter for his two horses . <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff is recommending approval of the conditional use permit to <br /> construct a 768 square foot agricultural metal skin building <br /> within 200 feet of the neighboring dwelling with the following <br /> condition: <br /> 1 . THE COLOR OF THE BUILDING BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE <br /> • <br /> COLOR OF THE EXISTING HOME . <br /> 2 . THE LOCATION OF THE BUILDING BE CONSISTENT WITH THE <br /> SITE PLAN. <br /> P.O.
