Coordinate all aspects of the site design, including existing trees, <br /> grading and berming, site design, signage and lighting. <br /> 2. Establish a theme or concept when designing the landscaping. <br /> 3. Provide plant materials in sizes that are generally accepted <br /> minimums. Two-and-one-half inch caliper for all deciduous <br /> trees, 6-8 foot height for evergreen trees, and 24-36 inch height for <br /> shrubs. <br /> 4. Sod all landscaped areas not planted with shrubs and trees. <br /> 5. Minimize the use of large rock mulch beds with few small shrubs. <br /> 6. Install underground irrigation for the maintenance of all sodded <br /> lawn areas, at a minimum. <br /> • 7. Install a minimum of one tree and eight shrubs per typical interior <br /> parking lot island (approximately 200 square feet). <br /> 8. Cluster shrubs plantings in planting beds, using edging materials <br /> such as steel or vinyl to separate mulch from sodded lawn areas. <br /> 9. Maintenance should be an important consideration when developing <br /> a design concept. <br /> • <br />
