Request for Action <br />ver <br />To <br />Item Number <br />Planning Commission <br />4.3 <br />Agenda Section <br />Meeting Date <br />Prepared by <br />Public Hearings <br />February 27, 2018 <br />Chris Leeseber , Senior Planner <br />Item Description <br />Reviewed by <br />Ordinance Amendment <br />Zack Carlton, Planning Manager <br />■ Industrial and Commercial Zoning District <br />Reviewed by <br />Uses, OA 18-03 <br />Action Requested <br />Recommend, by motion, approval of the Ordinance Amendment as proposed. <br />Background/Discussion <br />Staff is seeking to simplify the city code by clarifying the permitted uses in each district and reducing the <br />number of uses requiring a Conditional Use Permit (CUP). <br />Along with the definitions, staff looked at all of the uses/terms listed in each zoning district and noticed <br />many similarities in uses/terms within the same district. The first part of this request is to combine <br />repetitive uses/terms into one and tie it back to a definition. <br />The second part is to shift uses, where appropriate, from a conditional use to a permitted use. The uses <br />proposed to be shifted are not anticipated to negatively affect the public health, safety, and general <br />welfare of the residents. <br />The third part is to alphabetize each use in their respective sections. <br />The proposed changes are attached, and a key is located at the top of each page to indicate what is being <br />added, moved, or deleted. <br />The Key <br />The key used for all districts is noted in the header. The standard mean text is proposed <br />to be removed while underlines mean text is proposed to be added. <br />The yellow highlighted text references uses that have been relocated within a zoning district.
