City Council Minutes Page 5 <br />February 20, 2018 <br />----------------------------- <br /> Moved by Councilmember Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Olsen to call a <br />closed meeting for Monday, March 6, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. to discuss labor negotiation <br />proposals for the IUOE Local 49 Union. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br /> Mayor Dietz apologized to Councilmember Olsen for his outburst during Arena discussions <br />at the February 5 meeting. <br /> <br />9.1 Commission Interviews <br /> <br /> <br /> Council interviewed applicants for vacant positions on city advisory commissions. <br /> <br />Arena Commission <br />The Council interviewed Kent Madsen. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Olsen and seconded by Councilmember Wagner to <br />reappoint Kent Madsen to the Arena Commission for a three-year term to expire <br />February 28, 2021. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br /> Energy City Commission <br /> The Council interviewed Henry Griner and Harley Hanson. <br /> <br /> Moved by Councilmember Olsen and seconded by Councilmember Wagner to <br />reappoint Trish Curtis (energy-related business representative) and Harley Hanson <br />(Chamber representative) and appoint Henry Griner (energy-related business <br />representative) to the Energy City Commission for three-year terms March 1, 2018, <br />through February 28, 2021. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> The Council interviewed Dave Anderson, Mark Rathbun, and David Williams. <br /> <br /> Moved by Councilmember Olsen and seconded by Councilmember Wagner to <br />reappoint David Anderson and appoint Mark Rathbun and David Williams to the <br />Parks and Recreation Commission for three-year terms March 1, 2018, through <br />February 28, 2021. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br /> Planning Commission <br /> The Council interviewed John Jordan, Rob Rydberg, and Brad Thiel. <br /> <br /> Moved by Councilmember Olsen and seconded by Councilmember Wagner to <br />appoint John Jordan and reappoint Robert Rydberg and Brad Thiel to the Planning <br />Commission for three-year terms March 1, 2018, through February 28, 2021. Motion <br />carried 3-0. <br /> <br /> Utilities Commission <br /> Neither applicant was present for an interview. Mayor Dietz directed staff to contact both <br />applicants and schedule interviews for March 5. <br /> <br />10. Adjournment <br /> <br /> <br />
