<br />e <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL <br />HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL <br />TUESDAY, JULY 5, 1988 <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br /> <br />Mayor Gunkel, Councilmembers Tralle, Schuldt, Dobel, <br />and Holmgren <br /> <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br /> <br />Richard Fursman, Economic Development Coordinator <br /> <br />1. Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River <br />City Council was called to order by Mayor Gunkel at 5:01 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Resolution for the Alltool Expansion <br /> <br />A resolution of sponsorship for the expansion of Alltool Manufacturing <br />was discussed. This action would assure Alltool the timely construction <br />of their new facility. Mr. Fursman said that with this sponsoring <br />resolution, Alltool would be able to incur costs prior to the sale of an <br />industrial development bond some time in late July. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 88-49. A RESOLUTION or <br />SUPPORT FOR ALLTOOL MANUFACTURING PROM- THE CITY or ELlC RIVBR. <br />COUNCILMEMBER TRALLE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSBD 5-0. <br /> <br />e 3. <br /> <br />Consideration of Wapiti Park Liquor License <br /> <br />The Mayor noted that at the June 27, 1988, City Council meeting, the <br />Council approved a non-intoxicating On-Sale and Off-Sale Liquor License <br />for Steven and Bonnie Thirkelson; the new owners of Wapiti Park. It <br />appears that the sale of the park has fallen through and the park will <br />belong once again to Roger and Lorraine White next week. Because of the <br />situation, Roger and Lorraine White have applied for a Non-Intoxicating <br />On-Sale and Off-Sale Liquor License in their names. Mr. White has <br />indicated that the property will be deeded back to them some time next <br />week. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE NON-INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE <br />POR ROGER AND LORRAINE .WHITE OF WAPITI PARK CAMPGROUND. COUNCILMEMBER <br />TRALLE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4. Discussion of the Appeal of the Levy Limit <br /> <br />The Mayor discussed the City's appeal of the Levy Limit, which was <br />approved. <br /> <br />5. Other Business <br /> <br />A letter inviting the City Council to the U.P.A. open house was <br />distributed. <br /> <br />~ A letter from the V.F.W., which is sponsoring the Special Olympics was <br />shown to the Council. <br />
