Parks&Recreation Commission Minutes Page 3 <br /> February 14,2018 <br /> City Council. <br /> Commissioner Soltvedt asked how DAAC would be handled if the Arena project was built on its <br /> current site. <br /> Mr. Hecker shared that softball fields will be built over by YAC. <br /> Commissioner Kallemeyn asked if projects are paused when would they resume. <br /> Mr. Hecker shared he was unsure when,as spring may be too late and would hope for a summer <br /> timeline to start the projects. <br /> Commissioner Holmgren explained that this is a slippery slope and group has worked hard to <br /> move forward on these projects and now clue/to the City Council'changing direction it reflects <br /> badly on the commission. <br /> Commissioner Soltvedt asked if the DAAC location is used for new fac could the scoreboards <br /> be used elsewhere in the system. <br /> Mr. Sevcik stated no as the amount ofimoney allocated would not be enough to cover another <br /> location. <br /> Councilmember Olsen asked how much money has been put into the well at DAAC. <br /> •Mr. Sevcik shared that ere has been no cost as of yet st time spent with the company to come <br /> up with a solution. Fvr' <br /> Vice-Chair Kallemey naked to review the issue'on a monthly basis. <br /> Commissioner Sbitvedt stated that sincey ese projects have already been approved why not make <br /> rnv <br /> a motion to move`foard whenCity Count tx akes a decision. <br /> Commissioner Niziolek stated that the commission has made a commitment and the City Council <br /> should bee ones to put these Park`Improvement projects on hold. <br /> CommissionerHolmgren stated he agreed with Commissioner Niziolek. <br /> Councilmember Olsen shared that the commission is leaping ahead of itself because it is not clear <br /> what is going to happen.There are many things happening at once. <br /> Commissioner Holmgren stated to move forward with project until City Council knows. <br /> Moved by Commissioner Niziolek and seconded by Commissioner Holmgren to proceed <br /> with Parks Improvement projects, clearly notifying the City Council of projects moving <br /> forward and if they agree.
