Momentary Average Interruption Frequency Index (MAIFI) <br /> MAIFI is defined as the average number of times a customer on the utility system will experience a <br /> momentary interruption. <br /> In this report, an outage with a duration of less than five minutes is classfied as momentary. The index is <br /> calculated by dividing the total number of momentary customer interruptions by the total number of <br /> customers served by the utility.
