CallMeetin~ To Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River <br />Board of Canvass was called to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Consider 11/8/90 Board of Canvass A~enda <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPROVE THE 11/8/90 BOARD OF CANVASS <br />AGENDA. COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED <br />4-0. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Canvass Municipal General Election Resylts <br /> <br />The City Council, serving as the Board of Canvass, <br />November 6, 1990, municipal General Election results. <br />are outlined in Resolution 90-61. <br /> <br />reviewed the <br />These results <br /> <br />The Board of Canvass discussed future redistricting of the City after <br />the final census data becomes available. The City needs to redistrict <br />for voting purposes due to the substantial population growth the <br />community has experienced. Discussion also took place regarding <br />additional polling places and the possibility of City election Wards <br />being further divided into precincts. This further subdivision of the <br />Wards would allow for less waiting at the polling places during <br />elections. <br /> <br />The City Council commented on how smoothly the election went when <br />considering the changes in the Governor's race. The Council <br />congratulated the City Clerk, Sandy Thackeray, on her good work in <br />managing the election. <br /> <br />The 1990 municipal General Election results showed that Mayor Tralle <br />was reelected; Councilmember Holmgren was reelected; and John Dietz <br />defeated Peter Kimball for the Ward 1 Councilmember position. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL MOVED TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 90-61, A RESOLUTION <br />CANVASSING THE 11/6/90 MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION RESULTS. <br />COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br />
