<br />2005 GOALS & PROJECTS <br /> <br />City of Ell< River <br />2004 Annual Report <br /> <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />· Continue our fire prevention education with schools, civic groups, and with <br />additional focus on adult education. <br />· Implementation of safe escape house for presentation to elementary schools, <br />preschools, and daycares. <br />· Active Partner in Senior Safety Camp. <br />· Continue with computerized pre-plans for the commercial and industrial <br />businesses in our community. <br />· Advertise, screen, and interview firefighter candidates to bring roster to 40 for full <br />staffing. <br />· Continue transition planning from single station incident response to two station <br />incident response. <br />· Implementation of two station officer structure. <br />· Place "into service" new pumper at Station 2. <br />· Compliance with Federal Standards for the National Incident Management System <br />(NIMS). <br />o Fire Department Training and Testing. <br />o Incorporating NIMS into Emergency Operations Plan <br /> <br />EMERGENCY~ANAGEMENT <br />· Staff Awareness Training for National Incident Management System (NIMS). <br />· Adopt NIMS into Emergency Operations Plan. <br />· Review roles and responsibilities with EOC staff. <br />· Annual update of Emergency Operations Plan and Emergency Resource Manual. <br />· Continue to update EOC staff regarding any directives from the Minnesota <br />Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management regarding terrorist <br />acts and/or biological events. <br />· Quarterly CERT Team Training. <br /> <br />SAFETY COMMITTEE <br />· Continue relationship with MMUA as our safety consultant. <br />· Provide safety training to field staff specific to their needs. <br />· Review and make recommendations regarding employee accidents. <br />· Advanced driving safety training to field employees. <br />· Assist departments with Department of labor and Industry safety grants. <br />
