Director <br /> Purchases Reviewed by <br /> Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> Action Requested <br /> Approve,by motion, the purchase a 2019 Mack, tandem axle plow truck with Towmaster equipment for <br /> snow removal efforts; and the purchase of a 2018 Toro 4010 wide area mower. <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> The following equipment was approved for purchase in the 2018 Equipment Replacement Fund. This <br /> equipment is replacing aging equipment within the Streets and Parks Division fleet. <br /> The plow truck will replace Unit 227, a 2000 Volvo tandem axel plow truck. The new plow truck will be a <br /> 2019 Mack AF Granite 64FR (T) TA cab and chassis with a Towmaster box and plowing accessories. The <br /> total cost for the purchase of the Mack cab and chassis is $122,690 and $102,171 for the Towmaster <br /> components for a total state contract price of$224,861. <br /> The mower will replace Unit 725, a 2011 Toro Groundmaster 4010D 11-foot wide area mower. The new <br /> mower will be the same model with the upgraded Tier IV engine meeting EPA fuel and emissions <br /> requirements. In addition, the current 60" broom utilized for winter snow removal will be replaced with a <br /> new broom. The total cost for the purchase of the Toro Groundmaster 4010D with the broom <br /> attachment after trade-in value is $76,221.33 utilizing the National IPA contract pricing. <br /> Financial Impact <br /> The total cost of the equipment with accessories and attachments is $301,082.33 after trade-in of the <br /> existing Toro Groundmaster and broom valued at$12,000.
