mDEPARTMENT <br /> OF HEALTH <br /> PROTECTING, MAINTAINING & IMPROVING THE HEALTH OF ALL MINNESOTANS <br /> December 1, 2017 <br /> Elk River Municipal Utilities <br /> P.O.Box 430 <br /> Elk River, MN 55330-5600 <br /> Dear: <br /> The Minnesota Department of Health Oral Health Program and Drinking Water Protection Section are <br /> pleased to present you with the 2016 Water Fluoridation Quality Award.This award,created by the <br /> Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC), recognizes those public water systems(PWSs)that <br /> adjust the fluoride concentration in drinking water and achieve a monthly average fluoride level that is <br /> in the optimal range for 12 consecutive months in a calendar year,as documented in the CDC Water <br /> Fluoridation Reporting System(WFRS). <br /> CDC initiated the Water Fluoridation Quality Awards program to recognize outstanding performance in <br /> fluoridation management by public water systems. In Minnesota, 104 of 603 possible fluoridating <br /> community PWSs are receiving awards for 2016. <br /> You can use your Quality Award to promote health through community water fluoridation. Receiving <br /> this award provides you with an opportunity to highlight the excellent work being done by your water <br /> system.
