City Council Minutes <br />December 4, 2017 <br />Page 12 <br />Councilmember Westgaard noted this has been discussed for two years and there is <br />not anything new. <br />Councilmember Wagner stated no disrespect was meant. <br />Councilmember Westgaard stated the city could take a step back and talk to the <br />Lions about the city's needs. He stated the city would like to swap assets to allow the <br />arena construction. He stated their intent is to always be collaborative and <br />communicate with groups. <br />Mr. Portner stated the city needs to make some decisions. He stated the city must <br />look at the big picture because it has other buildings with improvement needs. He <br />further discussed the cost benefit of combining facilities. <br />Councilmember Ovall stated both groups need to come to a solution. He stated <br />legacy aside let's step back and evaluate if this can be an opportunity for the Lions' <br />mission. He stated he would like to see a partnership continue on this project. <br />The Lions questioned what this would entail and wanted time to pick representatives <br />from their group. <br />Mr. Femrite suggested a separate meeting with Lions to discuss their needs. <br />Council agreed and a meeting was scheduled for Monday, December 11 at 7:00 p.m. <br />II.
